Does Using the Word ˜Want" Contradict the Law of Attraction?

f you’re familiar with my work you’ll often hear me use the phrase “So, what do you want?” In my book and other articles, I often refer to wanting to attract something. In short I use the word ‘want’.

A number of people have been trained not to use the word ‘want.’ They have been told that when you use the word ‘want’ you’re actually holding the vibration of not having ‘it’. Or when you use the word ‘want’ you’re coming from a place of lack.

For example, the word homework excites some people yet causes a negative vibration in others. Words can feel negative to one person and feel positive to another.

To illustrate my point, read the next two scenarios and after each one decide whether you are sending a negative vibration or a positive vibration.
Note that the words are exactly the same.

Scenario # 1 – You notice something that you desire but in your head you catch yourself thinking, “I’ll never get one as it’s out of my reach.” Then you say “I want one of those”, in a whiny voice. (What vibrations would you be sending here?)

Scenario # 2 – You desire something new and you see it. With your eyes wide open and acting like an excited kid you say “I want one of those!” pointing at the exact item that matches your desire. (What vibrations would you be sending here?)

Remembering that Law of Attraction is responding to vibrations (your feelings), it’s how you feel about the words you say which is most important.

It’s not the words you use,
it’s how you feel about the words that you use.



So the next time somebody tells you not to use the word ‘want’ you can teach them why using the word ‘want’ is okay for you.

Abundance is a Feeling

Q: Michael, many times during your teleclasses and seminars, you say “abundance is a feeling.” Can you elaborate on that statement – what do you mean it’s a feeling?

First one of the important things that we’ve come to learn with the Law of Attraction is that we can duplicate feelings. In other words, just through the words I use I can stimulate somebody or discourage them. In short, we can create feelings within ourselves and within others by what we say and what we think.

Abundance is a feeling. Do you ever notice how excited you feel when you know you have a check coming or when you know you’re getting an income tax refund? The excitement you’re experiencing is the feeling of abundance. We feel abundant knowing that it’s coming, even before we put it in the bank. So a question to ask is, “Do I feel abundant knowing that I’m receiving some money or do I feel abundant only when I put it in my bank account?” For most people, they feel abundant knowing that it’s coming. It has nothing to do with whether that have it or not.

So because abundance is a feeling, and the Law of Attraction responds to feelings (vibrations), what if we were able to duplicate the vibration of abundance deliberately? (This is what’s called Deliberate Attraction). We’ve come to understand that this powerful force called the Law of Attraction is constantly checking to find a vibration that we’re sending and duplicates it by giving us more of the same. So what if when the Law of Attraction is checking at every moment, that in that moment, we are offering the vibration of abundance? Given the formula, the Law of Attraction would duplicate that vibration and bring us more of the same. That’s why it’s called the Law.

Q: How do you teach people to attract more abundance?

The Law of Attraction does not care why you are offering a vibration. In other words, it does not care whether you are remembering, pretending, complaining, creating, day-dreaming or observing your reality. It obediently duplicates that vibration. So ideally, we would find something that makes us feel abundant and include it more often in our daily vibration. There are a number of tools that people can use to duplicate the vibration of abundance. I’ll give you one of them today.

Q: How do you record abundance in your own life?

On my fridge, I have 15 – 2 dollar winning lottery tickets. So I can clearly and truthfully say I won the lottery 15 times last month. I’m a winner. Look how many times I’ve won! It’s worth 30 dollars to me in the bank and it’s worth much more to me vibrationally.

You know when people buy those lottery scratch tickets? Most would celebrate the win for 21 seconds. So for 21 seconds, you are offering the vibration of abundance by saying things like, “Hey I just won 2 dollars! I love it when I win scractch tickets!” And after the short offering of abundance vibration, most people cash the ticket in again and again until they lose. And now they catch themselves saying, “I just wasted money on this lottery again. I only ever win 2 dollars. Easy come, easy go.” Now they’re in a place of offering a negative vibration.

So here’s how to take advantage of the 2 dollar winning lottery ticket. Don’t cash it. Keep it in your wallet. Put it on your fridge. And as you look at it each time, it will be a brief reminder that you won 2 dollars. Now you can tell yourself, I won the lottery! I won money this week! And now, for more than 21 seconds, you are offering the vibration of abundance over and over and over again. Your 2 dollar winning lottery ticket is worth more to you vibrationally than the 2 dollars.

Are you Taking Accountability for What You're Attracting?

Even the very word accountability can make the hair stand up on the back of your neck!

Often the word accountability is used in a scolding manner such as “You’re not very accountable!” As a certified NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) practitioner, I’ve learned about the impact of words and I particularly like reframing a words meaning. By reframing I mean to look at a word and its meaning from a different point of view. Consider the following reframe of the word accountability.

The word accountability has two words buried within it – the word account and the word ability. Here is a different definition for the word accountability -

“Accountability: my ability to account for why I’m attracting what I’m attracting”.

Have you noticed when people attract something wonderful into their life they like to brag and celebrate it, and will often say “I attracted this!”; “This is here because of me!”; “I put it out to the Universe, that’s why it’s here”; “I’m an awesome attractor”; “My parking angel brought me this parking spot”. In all of these cases we do have the ability to account for why we attracted it.

Now let’s consider the folks who attract negative or unwanted things to their lives. Here’s what they say. “Why is the Universe doing this to me?”; “This is not my fault!”; “I don’t deserve this”; “Why me?”

When it comes to attracting negative experiences some people tend to no longer have the ability to account for why they attracted it, yet the reason is the same. They attracted it because they vibrated it!

Often people will ask me “How do I know that I’m getting this Law of Attraction stuff?” My response is “You know when you take full accountability for everything you attract, both the negative and positive!” You don’t have to like it – you just have to own it. So, starting today, when you notice you’ve attracted something you don’t like, you can be more curious about it and say “I must have been offering a negative vibration that caused me to attract this negative experience”, thus having a different emotional response to what you’ve just attracted. Play with this concept today and acknowledge that everything you’ve been attracting is a direct result of the vibration that you’ve been sending.

A Minute of Deliberate Attraction is better than None

Before I explain why a minute of Deliberate Attraction is better than none, I'd like to begin by giving a definition of The Law of Attraction.


Definition of the Law of Attraction: I attract to myself, whatever I give my focus, attention, or energy to, whether wanted or unwanted.

It is important to understand that The Law of Attraction operates in every moment. Right now, in this very moment, each of us is offering a vibration, and The Law of Attraction is matching that vibration and giving us more of it, whether or not we are offering that vibration deliberately or non-deliberately. As the definition says, whether wanted or unwanted, we attract more of whatever vibration we offer in every moment. When it comes to our vibration, whether or not they are deliberately offered, or non-deliberately offered and whether or not our vibration attracts to us something we want or don't want, The Law of Attraction is still paying attention and operating in exactly the same way---in EVERY moment.

Ideally, we will want to become more deliberate offerers about the vibrations we offer. When we become deliberate about what we give our focus, attention, and energy to, we are practicing Deliberate Attraction! Here is an easy 4-stage cycle to help you understand why Deliberate Attraction is an important skill to practice.

Stage #1: You observe what you are attracting in any moment of your life.

Stage #2: While observing what you are attracting, you are offering a corresponding vibration.

Stage #3: Whether offered deliberately or non-deliberately, in every moment The Law of Attraction is checking in with your vibration.

Stage #4: The Law of Attraction then gives you more of whatever you are offering vibrationally.

This 4-stage cycle keeps repeating itself over, and over and over again. This is how you manifest more of whatever you give your focus, attention, or energy to.

Notice the word 'attention' in our definition of The Law of Attraction. The more Deliberate Attention you give to something you desire, the more quickly it will manifest in your life. Imagine spending one minute deliberately placing your focus, attention, and energy on the way you want something to be in your life. You are filling that minute with deliberately offered vibrations. Your vibrations are summoning the energy of The Law of Attraction to start unfolding whatever you just gave your attention to.

Now that you understand more clearly the significance of being a deliberate offerer of your vibration, isn't one minute of deliberate attraction better than none? Remember, whenever you give attention to what you Do want, you are including it in your current vibration. And, whenever you give attention to what you DON'T want, you are including it in your current vibration. The Law of Attraction doesn't make any distinctions between the two.

In closing, in every moment, including this moment RIGHT NOW, RIGHT NOW, RIGHT NOW, you are including both what you want and don't want in your vibration. Practice becoming more deliberate in your vibration and you will manifest your desires more quickly. That's what Deliberate Attraction is all about.

Mentorship





Everyone will always remember who introduced them to the Law of Attraction. After reading Micheal Losier's book and learning the principles and the application of the 3 step formula to deliberate attraction, I new I wanted to train the way he teaches.

After training on line with Micheal last year and meeting him twice in Toronto, I was able to teach the LOA to hundreds of people across the Niagara area, including the Niagara Health System, Salons and spas, Real estate, travel agencies, church groups, chiropractors, and even children and teenagers. Then, I decided to take Micheal's certified facilitator training in Vancouver and trained with people from all around the world.

Since practicing the LOA for the past few years, doors are continually opening. It's all about being deliberate, that's why Micheal calls it deliberate attraction.

Special thanks to Micheal. Without his training, mentoring and true understanding of the Law of Attraction, my path to teaching as many people as I can would not be possible.

Gratitude: One of the Highest Vibrations on the Vibe Meter

In my book, Law of Attraction, I use a picture of a traditional radio dial to show radio station frequency display numbers. The radio dial goes from channel 01 to channel 100 with low vibrations being 01 to 50 and the higher vibrations are located on the dial at 50 to 100.

Understanding that Law of Attraction always responds to the vibrations that we are sending, ideally, we would want to be sending high vibrations. Appreciation and Gratitude are some of the highest vibrations that we can send. You can tell by how you feel when you are being grateful and experiencing gratitude.

There are many ways for you to express your gratitude. Know that, by doing so, you will be deliberately sending out one of the highest vibrations.

Why Your Affirmations May Not Be Working... and How They Can!

Have you have been using affirmations to get what you want, yet you stand back and notice that nothing is happening? Have you given up on your affirmations and feel it is a waste of time?

There are reasons why your affirmations may not be working for you. Understanding the relationship between your affirmations and how they make you feel is the key to making them work for you.

An affirmation is a statement spoken in the present tense to declare a desire. Saying “I have a happy, slender body” is an example of a positive affirmation.

Many teachings on affirmations insist on stating them as if you already have what you desire, present tense. For example:

  • “I have tons of clients”
  • “I make lots of money”
  • “I have a great relationship”


Remember that Law of Attraction is always responding to the vibrations that we’re sending. The words we use and the thoughts we think, cause us to send out a vibration. The sentence “I have a happy, slender body” will feel differently to different people. For someone who considers themselves to be heavy or overweight, when they hear themselves say the affirmation “I have a happy, slender body”, in most cases they immediately tell themselves the opposite. “No I don’t! Look how big I am! I’m the biggest I’ve ever been! It’s not true! I don’t have a happy, slender body!” What’s important here is the reminder that Law of Attraction is always responding to the vibrations that are being sent whether negative or positive. A thin person, for example, could say “I have a happy, slender body”, and it would feel good for them, while a person who doesn’t have a happy, slender body will feel a negative vibration.

It’s not what you think or say that matters, its how you FEEL about what you think or say that counts.



Recommendations for Rewording Your Affirmations So They Feel Better.

The key to using affirmations is that they need to be true for you in order to make you feel good. Some of you have been taught to always state your affirmations in the present tense. I suggest you consider yourself to be “in the process”.

The “process” (the process of manifestation), actually starts when you think about your desire, talk about your desire, write about it, or when you give it any kind of attention, energy and focus. You ARE in the process when you say “I’m in the process of…..”, the sentence becomes true, and if it’s true for you, it feels good which is a positive vibration. Some examples of how to use this statement are:

“I’m in the process of….”

  • I’m in the process of creating ideal family relationships
  • I’m in the process of becoming more abundant
  • I’m in the process of attracting more clients


New each statement is true for you and it feels good. When it feels good, you are sending a positive vibration which the Law of Attraction responds to accordingly.
